Teacher's Gift Crochet Apple Dish Cloths

This year my daughter and I crocheted up some adorable apple dish cloths to give as year end gifts to her teachers.

To jazz up the presents she added a variety of super cute Tawashi scrubber's are quite popular in Japan right now.

We changed the dishcloth pattern to add solid red, yellow and green apples to give as a set with the slices.  This was a wonderful idea except we crocheted all the solid colour dishcloths first and when we went to pair them up with the slices the green was slightly off having come from two different dye lots.  My daughter decided it was no big deal because they will soon be covered in suds.

If you are on a tight budget the slices are cheaper to crochet then the solid apples because 14 oz cream cotton yarn can be purchased at Walmart for $8.99 as opposed to $1.99 - $2.99 for 1.75 oz of the country red, hot green and pale yellow.

When working with pale yellow be sure not to get it mixed up with the scented chamomile yarn like we did. The girls were absolutely tickled but personally apples should smell like apples.
